The plot of Arknights is set in a dystopian future on the planet Terra, where a valuable mineral called Originium causes a fatal and highly infectious disease known as Oripathy. Those infected face social ostracism and persecution, leading to tensions and conflicts between the infected and the uninfected. A militant faction called Reunion rises from the infected, waging war against the despotic governments of Terra. Amid this chaos, various factions and races struggle for survival and control in a world marked by unrest and hostility.
