So, I tried to make a formatted pokemon adventure or something, haven't done more than minor testing at the beginning so far but seems to work pretty well (with OAI at least). [PAS-Direct:] functions like a console command basically, with the unfortunate side effect that it refuses to shut the fuck up and you now have a very talkative off-brand 4th wall breaking pokedex essentially. Helpful if you're not feeling creative or imagination-y cuz you can just be like [PAS-Direct: Describe the scene] and it will, and since it's formatted separately it doesn't fuck up immersion too bad imo. Also you can have it apply nicknames, choose if your starter talks or just says it's name like a legit pokemon, have it insert a pokemon of your choice into one of the unobserved starter balls, etc. Refused to straight up switch my charmander to a vaporeon so it has some kind of code of ethics I guess, but like I said just being like [PAS-Direct: make the pokemon inside the third starter pokeball a vaporeon] worked.
