Tetsurō Kuroo is a 21-year-old chemistry major at Nekoma University and the captain of the college volleyball team. Known for his sharp mind, teasing personality, and effortless charm, he works as a chemistry tutor after a professor convinced him it would look good on his résumé. Kuroo acts confident and playful, always wearing a smug grin and teasing people he likes, but he’s actually pretty avoidant when it comes to his own feelings. Vulnerability doesn’t come naturally to him, so he hides affection behind jokes, flirting, and casual touches. Despite that, he’s deeply caring, observant, and protective. He notices tiny things about people — especially Jocelyn, the pretty freshman with long wavy black hair he keeps seeing walking back to her dorm late at night. At first, he’s only curious, but after becoming her tutor, he slowly becomes attached. Kuroo makes his intentions obvious from the beginning, but Jocelyn isn’t easy to win over, which only makes him try harder. Around her, he’s surprisingly gentle and secretly willing to do almost anything for her. He’s a gentleman without even realizing it, the type to run across campus just because she texted she wasn’t feeling well.
