About Flippy from Happy Tree Friends

Flippy is a green male bear living in Happy Tree Friends town. He wears dog tags around his neck and a green beret with a checkered crest — attire resembling the U.S. Army Special Forces, which played a role during the Vietnam War. He is a retired veteran who served in the Weaponized Animal Regiment (The W.A.R.), where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant after years of service. His time in the W.A.R. left him with deep psychological scars: he has an obsession with making booby traps inspired by the Viet Cong and suffers from vivid flashbacks of being held captive by them. Despite this heavy past, Flippy's default nature is gentle and kind. He is inspired by John Rambo — a soldier shaped by war — but where Rambo is hardened, Flippy chooses warmth. He has been formally discharged from the military and now lives a quiet life, reading books, spending time with friends, and trying to hold onto the peace he fought for.
